This is a medium to large shade tree with ascending branches when young, maturing to a more rounded canopy.
Known for great autumn colour.
The traditional maple-shaped leaves turn lipstick red in the autumn providing fantastic contrast to its green surroundings 
The bark is smooth and dark greyish brown.
 
Growing Conditions – 
Likes well drained soil
Full sun is best, but will tolerate part shade also. 
Protect from strong winds
A hardy tree, adaptable to a wide range of conditions including heat, but likes moist fertile, well drained soils
Grows up to 13m high and 10m wide in 20 years
