6. Fertiliser & Soil Conditioners

Seasonal Fertilising

  • In early spring, apply a slow-release fertiliser around the drip line (the outer circumference of the tree’s canopy). – Contact us for information on which fertiliser to use for your specific trees.

  • Avoid over-fertilising, especially with high-nitrogen products, as this can lead to weak, spindly growth susceptible to wind damage.

Soil Conditioners

  • Compost, Well-Rotted Manure or Permafert: Adds organic matter, improves structure, and encourages beneficial soil microbes.

  • Gypsum (for Clay Soils): Helps break down heavy clay to improve drainage.
